Our Government Services Division currently has a new opportunity for a SharePoint Developer. The SharePoint Software Developer applies current .NET technologies to develop, modify and maintain SharePoint server portals. Design, develop and manage site content as well as capabilities. Provide daily onsite maintenance of the existing NTC SharePoint portals. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Familiar with industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work with project stakeholders on a daily basis. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

  • Develops software solutions by studying requirements analysis and information needs; conferring with stakeholders and IT Management; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; performs software design using software development fundamentals and processes, debug, test, and deploy software solutions.

  • Design, develop and maintain key components of the software suite using ASP, Microsoft .Net and SharePoint tools.

  • Implementation of SharePoint-based workflows as well as development of Business Intelligence dashboards.

  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Actively participate in product design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment. A wide degree of creativity and latitude required.

  • Produces/creates SharePoint software enhancements by collaborating with SharePoint applications team.

  • Designs, develops, implements, and maintains internal and external NTC SharePoint sites.

  • Identifies design and development needs for proposed features by conferring with assigned subject-matter experts and other team members; determines the scope of the feature; analyzes content, target audience, job tasks, and actual and desired performance objectives of proposed feature; ensures completion of instructional systems development process (i.e., analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) if proposed feature is to be used for instructional purposes.

  • Evaluates effectiveness of software by participating in the software qualification process with members of the target audience; reviews and evaluates the software development process.

  • Ensures quality of software by reviewing software requirements; previews software prior to delivery; ensures continuity is maintained and desired functionality is achieved; recommends and implements software revisions where required; conducts technical review of software; tests and debugs software; performing interim and final testing of all software modules produced.

  • Satisfies departmental production needs by providing internal training and support on current development software to production team members; evaluates outside software development/delivery tools for compatibility with system currently in use; recommends tools which will improve software development effectiveness and/or author productivity; recommends hardware/software resources required for software development and delivery; maintains knowledge of system hardware and software; develops and maintains communication with software development system vendors.

  • Completes assigned projects by planning, organizing, and controlling project elements; reviews project plans, specifications, performance standards, and customer requirements; confers with project team members; identifies project phases and elements; sequences project elements; coordinates activities; resolves problems; recommends actions; monitors project progress; prepares project status reports.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by studying/reviewing all applicable laws and regulations; attends related educational workshops, seminars, conferences; reviewing professional and technical publications; establishes and maintains professional and technical networks/liaisons with subject-matter experts; participating in professional associations.

  • Serves customers (external and internal) by focusing on quality as it relates to the customer; listens actively to customer needs and concerns; anticipates customer needs and expectations; selects and explains best solutions to resolve customer problems/concerns; responds expeditiously to customer requests and concerns; ensures customer satisfaction.

  • Contributes to team efforts by focusing on departmental and NTC mission, goals, and objectives; establishes and maintains professional working relationships; actively participates on projects; works amicably and productively with others; keeps appropriate team/staff members informed; proactively assists team members; performs assigned tasks and projects as requested; accomplishes related tasks as needed.

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related field with 4 years of SharePoint experience or an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

  • 3-5 years professional experience in developing database driven web applications with ASP.NET, C#), MSSQL Server, and SharePoint 2010 or later.

  • 3-5 yearsof (X)HTML, JavaScript, and CSS required.

NOTE: Any combination of relevant education, training, and experience (i.e., experience comparable in difficulty to college-level work), totaling four years above the high school level, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities and renders.

  • Must have the drive to learn new technologies and methodologies.Strong work ethic, integrity, customer service and communication skills. Must be detailed-oriented and self-motivated.

  • Must be a team player.

  • Knowledge and experience working with high structure teams that adhere to project management best practices.

  • Must know the Software Design Life Cycle process with an emphasis on following a project through completion.
